CHATTANOOGA – The Chattanooga Mocs women's tennis team cruised to a 7-0 sweep over NAIA-member Tennessee Wesleyan on Saturday evening inside the Strang-Voges Tennis Center on the campus of The McCallie School in Chattanooga.
 
Following the win, Chattanooga improves to 4-1 on the season. TWU moves to 0-1 after its season opener.
 
"The ladies played great today. We played at a high level from beginning to end," said head coach Chad Camper following the match.
 
Chattanooga saw victories across the board in singles and doubles action with the latter kicking off the day. All three tandems earned wins including the duo of Grace Anne Dunavant and Caroline Gibbens, who picked up a hard-fought 7-5 decision. Dunavant competed for the first time in the 2021-22 season.
 
Singles play saw 6-0, 6-0 clean sweeps from Jessie Young and Emma Van Hee while Gibbens posted a 6-1, 6-0 win and Callie Billman a 6-2, 6-0 winner. Coco Bosman won 6-2, 6-0 and Nicole Abel took home a 6-0, 6-4 win as part of the No. 1 singles matchup.
