CHATTANOOGA – Chattanooga's Beach Volleyball team swept a Thursday doubleheader against the visiting Jacksonville State Gamecocks at the UTC Sports Complex, 4-1, 4-1.   
 
With the wins, Chattanooga improved to 8-2 and Jacksonville State dropped to 0-6.
 
Joy Courtright and Julia Davis won their fourth straight match in a row at No. 5 in straight sets, 21-14, 21-17 to open play. The Gamecocks won at the fourth pair in three sets to even the match at one, but a quick 21-7, 21-10 win at No. 2 by Paige Gallentine and Neva Clark gave the Mocs a 2-1 advantage.
 
Hanley Lomax and Bailey Steger (No. 3) 21-18, 21-14 secured the match for Chattanooga before Gylian Finch and Baylee Young added the extra point for the Mocs with a straight set (21-19, 21-11) win at the top spot.
 
In the second match, Courtright and Davis 21-12, 21-10 to kick off the scoring for Chattanooga. Victoria Cerino and Madi Morris got their revenge at No. 5 with a straight set victory to put the Mocs up 2-0.
 
Gallentine and Clark continued their dominance at the second pair with a 21-11, 21-5 defeat over the JSU pair. The duo won the last 11 points of the second set to wrap up their 2-0 day. After the Gamecocks won in two sets at No. 3, Finch and Young secured the second 4-1 win of the day for UTC with a 21-10, 21-14 win at the first pair.
