CHATTANOOGA --- The Chattanooga Mocs women's tennis team saw its five-match win streak snapped during a 6-1 loss to in-state rival ETSU on a sunny and breezy Saturday afternoon at the UTC Tennis Center.
 
Following the loss, Chattanooga falls to 10-6 overall and suffers its first conference loss moving to 2-1. ETSU improves to 12-7 overall and a perfect 4-0 in SoCon play.
 
"It was a tough loss today," said head coach Chad Camper. "We battled in a few positions but just couldn't get on top."
 
The Mocs opened the match by claiming the doubles point after seeing victories at the top two spots. Emma Van Hee and Nicole Abel continued their hot stretch in doubles action with a 6-3 decision at No. 1 while the duo of Callie Billman and Coco Bosman clinched the point with a 6-2 win at No. 2.
 
In singles play, UTC saw defeats in all six matchups with just two individuals reaching a tiebreaking third set. Van Hee and Billman each suffered three-set losses after each dropping 10-6 tallies in the tiebreaker.
 
Chattanooga returns to action next Saturday and Sunday, April 2 and 3, when it travels to the Palmetto State to face SoCon foe Furman and non-conference opponent Presbyterian, respectively. Match coverage links, when available, will be located on the schedule page on GoMocs.com.
