BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- The Chattanooga Mocs women's tennis team suffered a tough 4-3 decision to Samford on Thursday afternoon in Birmingham, Alabama.
Following the loss, Chattanooga falls to 12-8 overall and 3-3 in SoCon play. Samford improves to 12-8 and 5-2 inside league play.
Chattanooga earned the opening point after doubles action before dropping four of six singles matches. The tandems of Jessie Young and Caroline Gibbens and Emma Van Hee and Nicole Abel each secured wins in the opening round.
In singles play, Jessie Young (6-3, 2-6, 6-3) posted a win at No. 2 while Coco Bosman battled for a 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 victory in the No. 6 slot.
Chattanooga returns to action on Saturday, April 16, when it travels to face UNCG. First serve is slated for 12:00PM ET.
