GREENVILLE, S.C. --- The Chattanooga Mocs women's tennis team suffered a 6-1 defeat to No. 35 Furman in Southern Conference action in Greenville, S.C., on Saturday afternoon.
Following the loss, Chattanooga falls to 10-7 overall and an even 2-2 in SoCon action. Furman improves to 13-6 overall and a perfect 2-0 in the league.
Caroline Gibbens scored the team's lone point of the match with a hard-earned 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-3) victory over Madison Dillon at the No. 3 slot in singles. The tandem of
Nicole Abel and
Emma Van Hee won their sixth-straight match in doubles play after securing a 7-5 win in the No. 2 hole.
