Dorota Zalewska is headed to Nashville for NCAA Tournament play representing the Chattanooga Mocs May 9-11.

CHATTANOOGA---The Chattanooga Mocs found out its NCAA Tournament destination Thursday afternoon. Dorota Zalewska heads to the Franklin Regionals in Franklin, Tenn.
The 3-day, 54-hole event features 12 teams and six individuals converging on Vanderbilt Legends Club May 9-11. The top four team finishers and two individuals on non-advancing teams qualify for the finals May 20-25 in Scottsdale, Ariz.
"We have known for a few weeks now that Dori would play in the postseason," Coach Colette Murray shared. "I think it is important to acknowledge that Dori would have made it here even if she had not won medalist honors at the Southern Conference because of how highly she is ranked in DI women's golf…winning the SoCon was a bonus.
"Dori is really playing her best golf right now so the timing is perfect. I know that she wants to advance to nationals and is putting the work in to enable herself to get there. If Dori goes and plays the way she has been playing all year, and in particular this past month, she will be in season for another month. May is much more fun when you still have some skin in the game."
It's the first NCAA postseason event for Zalewska. The last Mocs qualifier for the event was Monica San Juan in 2019. Chattanooga sent individuals in 2008 (Emma de Groot) and 2016 (Emily McLennan) with the team earning a spot in the field seven straight seasons from 2009-15.
The 2009 squad advanced from the East Regional in Columbus, Ohio. Maria Juliana Loza came close in 2011 losing a playoff at Notre Dame after tying for eighth. She birdied her last three holes and four of the last six in a valiant attempt to get the team back to the finals. Loza's tie for eighth is the best individual finish in program history in NCAA Tournament Play.
There are six regional sites with 72 teams and 36 individuals taking aim at a trip to Scottsdale. At that point, there are 24 teams and 12 indys with one goal in mind. They play three days before a cut to the top 15 teams and nine lowest individuals not on those top 15 squads. A final round is played crowning the individual medalist and send the top eight teams into two days of match play to decide a winner.
