MACON---Weather could not dampen the spirits of Chattanooga Mocs junior Dorota Zalewska. She earned her second career win after impending weather caused the overnight cancellation of today's final of the Brickyard Collegiate.
 
It was a good Monday for Zalewska with rounds of 68 and 74 giving her a total of 2-under 142. That was one better than a trio of golfers at 1 under including 49th-ranked Tunrada Piddon (UCF), Alyssa Lamoureux (UCF) and No. 73 Letzia Bagnoli (Florida Atlantic).
 
It was an impressive performance as Coach Colette Murray related yesterday.
 
Her win is the 19th medalist honor in school history. She joins Emma de Groot '11 (6), Agathe Sauzon '15 (2) and Emily McLennan '16 (3) as the only multiple winners.
 
"Dori played so well today. It could have easily been (rounds of) 6 under and 3 under, but the greens aren't rolling great. We were spoiled by our greens at home at Council Fire last week."
 
Zalewska played par or better on all but four holes recording her first eagle of the season along with four birdies and 27 pars. Esme Hamilton ended up just outside the top 10 in a tie for 11th. She opened with 71 and was 3 over through two cards. Carolina Hortian had a total of 157 ahead of Megan Docherty's 162.
 
UCF is the team champ by 16 over Memphis. The Mocs regular season is complete. Next up is the Southern Conference Championships April 17-19 at the Dye Course on Barefoot Landing Resort in North Myrtle Beach, S.C.
