The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Athletics Department had another outstanding semester in the classroom during the Spring 2022 term.  The Mocs posted a 3.237 overall student-athlete grade-point-average for the recently completed semester. 

"The work of our student-athletes in the classroom continues to be a cornerstone of the overall success of our athletics department," stated Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Mark Wharton.  "We say this every term, but it continues to be an accurate assessment of our culture. 

"Our student-athletes work extremely hard to reach their goals in the classroom, our coaches do an outstanding job of recruiting and guiding high-caliber students, and our student-athlete academic enhancement staff are second-to-none when it comes to helping everyone meet our academic expectations." 

This is the 16^th time in the last 17 semesters, and the eighth straight overall, UTC has posted over a 3.0 GPA.  The Mocs' top six semesters in the classroom have all come in the last three years. 

The women's cross country team led all programs with a 3.842, while both the men's (3.678) and women's (3.826) tennis teams set individual program records.

A total of 63 student-athletes, nearly a quarter of all at UTC in the spring, posted a 4.0 GPA.  Some notables on the list include All-Southern Conference performers in beach volleyball's Neva Clark (Exercise & Health Sciences), women's basketball's Abbey Cornelius (MBA), softball's Reagan Armour (Child & Family Studies) and Emma Van Hee (Master's of Data Analytics) from women's tennis.

- 3.237 overall GPA is the fourth highest on record … top six semester GPAs have come in the last six terms.
- 61% of all student-athletes made the Dean's List (3.2 GPA) and 72% of all student-athletes made the Athletics Director's Honor Roll (3.0 GPA).
- 23% of all student-athletes (60 overall) had a perfect 4.0 GPA in the fall … second-highest total and percentage in school history.
- Women's cross country led all teams with a 3.842 … second highest in program history … sixth time in program history with a 3.8 or higher … add in track & field and 22 of the 24 on the roster made the Dean's List and A.D. Honor Roll … 14 4.0 GPAs is the most by one program in a semester in school history.   
- Men's tennis set a program record with a 3.678 team GPA … all 10 members of the program made the A.D. Honor Roll.    
- Women's tennis set a program record with a 3.826 … fifth-straight term with a 3.65 or higher … program record with all 10 on the roster making the Dean's List … also tied a team-high five with a 4.0 GPA.    
- Soccer scored a 3.5 overall GPA … 10 of the last 12 terms have been over a 3.5.
- All five members of the women's golf roster made the A.D. Honor Roll. 
- Softball finished with a 3.553 team GPA … fifth time in the last six semesters with a 3.5 or better … tied a program record with eight 4.0s.
- All 15 on the volleyball roster made the A.D. Honor Roll.
