MocsVision’s Gill Serves on Panel at SVG College Summit

ATLANTA, Ga. – Leah Gill, Chattanooga Mocs Assistant Athletic Director for Digital Media Services, was a part of a five-person panel at the Sports Video Group Summit earlier this week. Gill, who has been at Chattanooga full-time since 2011, spoke about Chattanooga's ESPN+ broadcasts as a part of the State of the Industry: Meeting the Demands of the Live-Content Explosion.

"We are proud that Leah had the opportunity to serve on a panel at the SVG College Summit," Vice-Chancellor and Director of Athletics Mark Wharton stated. "Leah does a great job leading our MocsVision department. It is no surprise that she is considered a leading voice in her industry."

Among discussing a wide range of topics regarding broadcasts, Gill highlighted the accomplishments that the MocsVision team of herself, Abby Walker and Tate Johnson achieved during the 2021-22 athletic year. Among those were broadcasting 65 events on ESPN+ and expanding coverage from past years to consistently include soccer, volleyball and wrestling.

Gill was able to speak from a mid-major standpoint on the panel to showcase what Chattanooga has done with not as many resources as Power-5 institutions.

"I was honored to be a part of the panel at SVG and provide insight as to what it is like to do this kind of production from a smaller, mid-major department," said Gill. "Athletic departments of all sizes are producing their own network broadcasts, and we all face unique challenges - hearing a voice that is not from an SEC Network or ACC Network school makes a difference when you are in the trenches of production without some of those resources that other schools might have."

In the coming days, a video of the panel will be posted to SVG's YouTube page.
