CHATTANOOGA---It was an early morning for Chattanooga Mocs wrestling fans. Junior Noah Castillo hit the mat at the U23 World Championships at 5 a.m., Eastern time, for Team Puerto Rico.

Castillo, wrestling at the international weight of 70 kilograms (152+ lbs) squared off with Belgium's Ibragim Veliev. The Mocs stalwart was making his first international appearance, and the first by a Moc on record.

It was a close, competitive affair over six minutes. It was not meant to be for Castillo losing 3-1 but building a solid base for future international competition. His tournament was complete when Veliev lost 3-2 to Turkey's Burak Sinin.

Castillo, a communication major, will put his studies to use over the next few days. He's going to share a first-person recounting of his experiences at the World Championships and trip to Albania.

Season tickets are available and start as low as $45 for UTC employees/alumni and $55 for general public. That covers general admission at Maclellan Gym as well as Gold Circle seating at the Roundhouse for the Southern Scuffle. Purchase online at GoMocs.com.
