HEAD COACH SHAWN POPPIE
Opening Statement
"We ran into a buzzsaw. Wofford played really well. We did not. That's twice now that they've had our number so we've got to regroup. We still got a big week ahead of us. Obviously, we're not in full control like we were going into tonight but there's still a lot to play for, obviously starting with Western Carolina on Thursday. Hats off to Wofford. They rebounded very well from their performance on Thursday, and we did not build on the momentum we had coming into the night."

On what Wofford does different
"This twice now. They did the same thing at their place. We tried to change some coverages up. I'm gonna tell you what they do, is they play with freedom. They're not a scripted offense. And if you're not engaged and ready, and thinking one play ahead, they make you pay. Our kids are a little bit more literal. They need to know exactly what's going to happen. Wofford is not that way and they make you pay and we just were scrambling. We didn't think one play ahead, we mixed up our coverages, and they're a good basketball team. Mine's more so it's both times we played them, a little bit is I think matchups to be honest with you. And we got a couple of weeks hopefully we get a chance to get them again up in Asheville.

"They shoot the ball pretty well, especially when they get going. We're kind of in waves and how they defend you got to shoot the three ball. But what teams do and we did not, is hurt them on the offensive glass. I think they gave up 26 offensive boards to Furman couple nights ago ETSU had 15 If I'm not mistaken, got 20 Something points off of it. And we miss all them shots at five [offensive] boards and a lot of it, to be honest with you, we're not crashing. It's treating it like the NBA, getting back and some of that is because they push transition. You've got to pick your poison a little bit. I was a little disappointed in our effort to go crash and get some extra opportunities when things weren't going well."
