CHATTANOOGA --- The Chattanooga Mocs women's tennis team posted its fourth-straight victory with a 4-3 thriller over Murray State in its first outside match of the season at the UTC Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.
 
Following the win, Chattanooga improves to 7-1 on the season. Murray State moves to an even 4-4 after the defeat.
 
After the Racers were forced to default the No. 3 doubles match due to a limited active roster on Saturday, Chattanooga earned a 1-0 lead after doubles play following a 6-5 win from Jessie Young and Caroline Gibbens at No. 1.
 
From there, it was a battle in singles play that would eventually come down to Young's matchup in the top singles pairing. Pippa Bosman posted a clean 6-0, 6-0 sweep at No. 5 which gave UTC a 3-0 lead due to the default at No. 6.
 
Dropping matches at No. 3 and No. 4 allowed the match to tighten at 3-2. Young provided the dramatics and earned a 2-6, 7-5, 6-4 come-from-behind win to clinch the team's fourth point and fourth-straight victory.
 
"It's hard to beat a team with that much heart and Murray State is an amazing team," said head coach Chad Camper.
 
"I am so proud of Jessie Young to face adversity and finding a way to win. The team really improved today."
 
Chattanooga (7-1) continues its six-match homestand next Saturday, February 25, with a 2 p.m. ET matchup against Alabama A&M. The match is scheduled to be held outdoors at the UTC Tennis Center, pending weather.
