MESA, Ariz.---Freshman Kera Healey continued her impressive start to the spring with a 3-under 69 at Longbow Golf Club. She led the Chattanooga Mocs to an eighth-place start at the Clover Cup with a 304 starting point.
 
Healey carded five birdies, 11 pars and just two bogeys on her round. Today's 69 ties her collegiate best score, and it marked her third 18 in the last six with five or more birdie circles. She's tied with six others atop the leaderboard.
 
"Kera continues to get better every day," Coach Colette Murray shared. "She is putting the work in and trusting the process. I believe as long as she continues to do those things, she will continue to grow and get better. There is no limit to how good she can be.
 
"Her attitude is so positive. She is such a wonderful team player and a true asset to our team."
 
Dorota Zalewska also turned in an under-par scorecard. She opened with 1-under 71 and is tied for eighth, just two strokes off the pace. Megan Docherty added 77 to the team tally with the final counter coming from Carolina Hortian with 87. Nieves Martin had the drop score.
 
Texas A&M Is the team leader with 283. That's one ahead of New Mexico in second and two clear of Clemson in third. The Mocs are four strokes behind Colorado State in seventh and three in front of the ninth-place duo of Indiana and Northern Illinois.
 
Saturday's second 18 starts at 10 a.m., Eastern time for Chattanooga and playing partners Colorado State and Indiana. The trio opens on hole No. 1. Live scoring and pairings are linked above.
