HILTON HEAD, S.C.---The Chattanooga Mocs women's golf team is in eighth after 18 holes of the Southern Conference Championships. The ladies shot 318 on Moss Creek Golf Club's South Course on what turned into a beautiful day after a sprinkling start to the round.
 
Dorota Zalewska led the way with 77. She's tied for 13th overall and one ahead of teammate Isabella Yu Lee. Yu Lee is also in the top 15 tied for it on the number after a 78.
 
Megan Docherty turned in 81 to rank next on the Mocs leaderboard. That was one better than the duo of Kera Healey and Carolina Hortian rounding out the team's score.

"The Mocs need to show more fight," Coach Colette Murray shared after the round. "Quite frankly, it's just not good enough. We need to expect more."

Furman is the early leader with an opening 297. Western Carolina is in second at 301 ahead of the third-place tie at 307 for ETSU and Mercer. The Paladins' Anna Morgan leads individually with 2-under 70.
 
The Mocs return to the tee at 8:30 a.m., Monday playing with UNCG and The Citadel. Hortian leads the squad off followed in 10-minute intervals by Healey, Docherty, Yu Lee and Zalewska. Scoring and pairings along with a complete results package is linked above.
