Mocs Take Part in Earth Day Cleanup Project

The Mocs participated in today's Earth Day Brainerd Levee Cleanup.

The Mocs were on hand thanks to support from The Flock, one of the NIL (Name, Image and Likeness) collectives that independently support student-athletes at UTC. The Flock organized the partnership with the Chattanooga Park Stewards Program that works to foster community, grow environmental stewardship and promote civic pride by connecting volunteers with projects in Chattanooga's City Parks.

This is also National Volunteer Appreciation Week - so it is a culmination of caring for our outdoor spaces and encouraging civic participation.

UTC student-athletes spent the morning working along the South Chickamauga Creek Greenway. This space runs along the spine of the levee and it is a prime location for birders, bicyclists and pedestrians.

The cleanup section began at the Shallowford Road Trailhead and extended to the Brainerd Road Trailhead.
