CHATTANOOGA --- The Chattanooga Mocs women's tennis team suffered a 6-1 defeat in its regular season Southern Conference home finale to league-leading Furman on a warm Thursday afternoon at the UTC Tennis Center.
 
Following the defeat, Chattanooga falls to 13-6 overall this season and 2-3 inside SoCon play. Furman improves to 8-11 overall and remains perfect inside the league at 4-0. The win for the Paladins marked its 11^th-straight over the Mocs dating back to 2015.
 
Caroline Gibbens scored the team's lone point after earning a win by default at the No. 3 position by a 0-6, 6-4, wd tally. The match was already clinched in favor of Furman at the moment which lead to the default.
 
Chattanooga returns to action on Saturday, April 8, when it travels to in-state rival ETSU. First serve is slated for 1 p.m. ET in Johnson City. Live stats will not be available for the contest against the Bucs.
