SPARTANBURG, S.C.--- Chattanooga Mocs freshman Kera Healey is the Southern Conference Golfer of the Month per the league office Friday afternoon. Healey March was certainly memorable in earning her first monthly award.
 
"Kera's play has been so solid this spring," Coach Colette Murray shared. "We are glad that her consistent play has been recognized. It's a nice, wee confidence booster leading up to the Southern Conference Championships."
 
Healey saw action in just one tournament for the month. She narrowly missed a top 10 tying for 11th against a strong field at the Clover Cup in Mesa, Ariz. Healey turned in her first par or better total with a 2-under 214.
 
It started with tying her season low with a 3-under 69. That was followed by 73 and 72 as she toppled five ranked golfers in the field. Her most impressive win was by 17 shots over No. 62 Carmen Griffiths of Louisville. She joins Dorota Zalewska (Sept.) as Mocs winning the award this season.
 
The Mocs return to action in nine days at the Southern Conference Championships. This year's event returns to an old haunt, Moss Creek Golf Course in Hilton Head, S.C.
