CHATTANOOGA --- The Chattanooga Mocs women's tennis team has signed Italian scholastic prospect Emma Pedretti to the upcoming 2023-24 roster, the program and head coach Chad Camper announced Tuesday morning.
 
Pedretti, a native of Italy, will come to the Scenic City following a highly successful junior career on the European circuit. She is a product of Itis Liceo Scientifico in Vittuone MI, Italy.
 
"Emma is a very solid player who has a game for college tennis. Her work ethic on the court will allow the program to grow to the next level," said head coach Camper after the signing.
 
Pedretti's best junior ranking came in at No. 111 during the 2020 season while her ITF Junior Ranking as of January 2023 registered at No. 788. She claimed a pair of Open Tournament titles in 2022 in Italy, capturing wins in Grosseto and Romano di Lombardia.
 
She was a 2021 Finalist in the doubles action at the ITF J4 Corfu in Greece following a 2019 quarterfinal appearance at the Italian Championships in 2019. Pedretti was a 2018 regional champion during play at the U14 level to earn a berth into the Italian Championships.
