
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- Chattanooga women's basketball head coach Shawn Poppie has dipped into the portal once again signing Alabama transfer Khyla Wade-Warren.

Wade-Warren played in 42 games with the Tide over two years averaging 3.3 points and 1.7 rebounds per game and has 24 blocked shots. She made five starts in 27 games in her sophomore year, averaging 4.6 points and 2.1 rebounds per game. She led the Tide in blocks in seven games and had five double-digit scoring games. She was sidelined for most of the 2022-23 season due to injury.

Against Bethune-Cookman she matched her career-high in scoring with 16 points, pulled down nine rebounds and went 6-of-6 from the free throw line. She also had 16 points against Charleston Southern. In the Tide's win over Auburn on January 23, 2022 she recorded 15 points, four rebounds a steal and a block.

Prior to Alabama, Wade-Warren played a season at Texas Tech. She appeared in 24 games for the Raiders and earned two starts in conference action. She had 66 points, 47 rebounds and 14 blocked shots as a freshman and made 59 percent of her shots from the field.

Wade-Warren will sit out next season due to NCAA transfer rules as a two-time transfer and will have two seasons remaining with a redshirt and a COVID season.

She joins fellow transfer Jada Guinn (Tennessee Tech) and incoming freshmen Hannah Cohn (Oviedo, Fla.), Caia Elisaldez (Whittier, Calif.) and Eleecia Carter (Winter Garden, Fla.) on the 2023 roster.
