CHATTANOOGA --- The Chattanooga Mocs women's tennis team picked up its fifth signee of the offseason as Russian native Madlena Orlova inked her commitment to the 2023-24 roster, head coach
Chad Camper and the program announced Wednesday afternoon.
Orlova, a Moscow, Russia native, will head to the Scenic City after appearing in numerous high-level events across the European landscape during her prospective playing career.
"Madlena is a seasoned player," said coach Camper.
"We have a very motivated group joining the program in fall 2023, and Madlena will surely make an impact for the team."
Orlova earned a tournament title in the top category on the Voronezh Open Tour in Russia in addition to earning qualifying round wins in a pair of ITF-sanctioned events. She posted those wins at the Monastir 41 in Tunisia in October of 2022 and at an ITF/Tennis Europe event in Marbella, Spain in September of 2022.
Due to those victories, Orlova captured three Women's Tennis Association (WTA) points in the process. She also added a semifinal appearance at a UTR tournament in Cornella, Spain.
