University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Mark Wharton announced a number of promotions to his administrative staff today. Ken Jones and Ryan Jones are now Senior Associate Athletics Directors, Taylor Toner is elevated to Associate Athletics Director and Chandler DeRieux is promoted to Director of Compliance.
"Each of these individuals has done an outstanding job supporting our coaches and student-athletes," added Wharton. "They each bring a unique set of skills to their specific areas, but they all share a passion for Mocs Athletics and play a pivotal role in our success."
Ken Jones is in his 10
th year as the oversight of NCAA Compliance for the athletics program. He also oversees the men's and women's golf programs.
Ryan Jones joined the Mocs in 2021 and leads UTC's athletics fundraising efforts. He and his team have brought in over $3.3 million in each of the last two fiscal years and set a UTC Athletics record for the most raised in gift and commitments in 2023.
Toner came to UTC from Little Rock in April of 2022. In just over one year, she has streamlined UTC's business operations and has added oversight of the administrative assistants to her list of responsibilities.
DeRieux is in his third year at UTC, having joined the program in July of 2021 as the Assistant Director of Compliance. He assists in all areas of NCAA compliance and initial eligibility as well as oversees eligibility certification, amateurism, transfer processes, housing and financial aid.
