Chattanooga Beach Volleyball Releases 2024 Schedule

Head coach Darin Van Horn releases 25-match schedule, which includes 11 home matches for the Mocs.

CHATTANOOGA --- The Chattanooga beach volleyball season is officially upon us as head coach Darin Van Horn released the team's 2024 schedule on Monday.

The schedule consists of 25 total matches, pitting the Mocs against both Ohio Valley Conference foes as well as a plethora of non-conference tests as well. The 2024 UTC beach volleyball schedule also features numerous opportunities for fans to come out and see the team right here in Chattanooga, with the Mocs slated to host three different events at home for a total of 11 home matches.

"Looking forward to new challenges and new opponents this season," Van Horn said. "Our first two weekends are strong with opponents we have never seen before. We have three home events this year too, so our student-athletes are excited to show off all their hard work and make Chattanooga proud."

"The leadership and competition within our roster will allow us to be successful throughout this schedule."

Chattanooga's season will begin in the Sunshine State with the Mocs traveling to Jacksonville, Florida, for the Jacksonville Invitational, set to run February 24-25. The tournament will pit UTC against the likes of Palm Beach Atlantic, Coastal Carolina, FIU and eventually the tournament host Jacksonville.

The Mocs will then remain on the road the following weekend March 2-3, as the team heads to the Wheeler Beach Bash hosted by South Carolina. The Gamecocks will be the lone Power 5 competition for the Mocs this year, with UTC also scheduled to battle with Charleston, Coastal Carolina and UNC Wilmington while in Columbia.

UTC then faces a quick day trip doubleheader on March 14, with the Mocs traveling to Martin, Tennessee, to play against UT Martin at 2 p.m. ET followed by Austin Peay at 4 p.m. ET.

This will then kick off a three-tournament home stint for the Mocs between the months of March and April, beginning with an OVC Conference Matchup on March 22-23. The weekend of matches will include battles with Morehead State, Eastern Illinois, Lindenwood and Tennessee Tech.

Following a weekend off for Easter, the team will return to host the annual Scenic City Showdown on April 5-6. The tournament will welcome teams like UT Martin for an official conference matchup, as well as having non-conference matches against Austin Peay (two times), Tusculum and Carson-Newman.

The Mocs will then have one last home tournament on April 17, with UTC hosting Eastern Kentucky and North Alabama for the Chattanooga Clash. UTC's matches are slated for 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. ET on that Wednesday.

The team closes out its regular season on April 19-20 with on OVC Conference Matchup weekend in Martin, Tennessee. That weekend, the Mocs will play against Tennessee Tech, Lindenwood, Eastern Illinois and Morehead State to close out the year.

The 2024 Ohio Valley Conference Championships will then await the Mocs in Morehead, Kentucky, with the weekend's festivities scheduled to run April 25-27. In the event Chattanooga were to claim the automatic bid for the OVC, the Mocs would then travel to the 2024 NCAA Championship, which are set to run May 3-5 in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
