CHATTANOOGA (Jan. 28, 2024) --- The Chattanooga Mocs women's tennis team earned its second win of the season after posting a shutout 7-0 victory over Lee University on Sunday evening inside the Strang-Voges Tennis Center on Sunday evening.
 
Following the win, Chattanooga improves to 2-3 on the year. Lee University remains at 0-0 on the season as the match counted as an exhibition for the NCAA Division II program.
 
The Mocs opened the match with a 1-0 lead after a clean sweep in doubles play following a kick-start 6-0 blanking from Caroline Gibbens and Madlena Orlova and a 6-1 decision from Emma Peeler and Emma Pedretti. With the team point already secured, the No. 1 tandem of Rozalie Dohnalova and Alice Hall capped off a 6-4 win with a hard-fought effort.
 
UTC swept all six singles matches with one match needing a super-tiebreaking third set and one seeing a tie-breaking second set which resulted in a 6-4, 7-6 (7) victory for Alice Hall at the No. 5 slot. Orlova finished the match with a 6-0, 4-6, 10-2 win at No. 2 to cap off the 7-0 team win.

Chattanooga (2-3) returns to action on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 3-4, with a 2 p.m. matchup against Northern Kentucky and a 10 a.m. meeting against Eastern Kentucky, respectfully, in Richmond, Ky. Live stats, if available, will be available on the schedule page.
