Women's Basketball 50 Seasons of Greatness Series on YouTube

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga women's basketball team is celebrating its 50th season this year. To commemorate the milestone, the department is releasing the series "50 Seasons of Greatness" to YouTube today.

Fomer and current coaches, players and administrators look back on their time with the program reliving the very start, the road trips and the championships.

The four videos feature all seven varsity coaches beginning with Grace Keith in 1974 who got the off the ground. Sharon Fanning-Otis was a member of the first team as Sharon Cable. She takes the team from Mocettes to Lady Mocs, takes the team to the national stage and makes waves in the Southern Conference.

Craig Parrott was barely an assistant when he was hired to be the head coach. He led the Mocs as the SoCon's first team to advance to the NCAA Tournament.

Wes Moore took the reigns in 1998 and took Chattanooga far beyond what anyone thought possible. UTC became the only team in SoCon history to win 11 consecutive league titles under his watch. He had 12 overall. The Mocs went to the NCAA Tournament nine times with Moore and earned the league's first win in the Big Dance.

Jim Foster led UTC to wins at home against Top 10 foes Tennessee and Stanford, two of the most storied programs in NCAA women's basketball history. That led to a long run in the AP Top 25 rankings for the Mocs.

Former player Katie Burrows, who as Katie Galloway, led Chattanooga to the NCAA Tournament win over Rutgers.
Â
Current coach Shawn Poppie made waves in just his first season, leading the Mocs to the SoCon Tournament title and UTC's 16th NCAA Tournament appearance.

Players from the first team to the latest all come together to relive 50 Seasons of Greatness.
