CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- In the season finale, the Chattanooga women's soccer team held the Southern Conference regular season champion Western Carolina to one goal Sunday afternoon, falling 1-0 at Finley Stadium.

The Catamounts edged Chattanooga 11-10 on shots, but the Mocs had seven shots on goal.
Caroline Ekern made five stops in the match. WCU's defense held off the Mocs'
Caroline Richvalsky who had a game-high five shots, four on goal.

Western Carolina's Sophie Burchfield, assisted by Samantha Vibberts, scored the lone goal of the match.

Chattanooga is the No. 5 seed in the Southern Conference Championship that begins this week. UTC will take on fourth-seeded Mercer at 4:00 p.m. Friday in Cullowhee, N.C.
