Head Coach Deandra Schirmer
On good early defense but too many fouls
"One of the things we've been trying to hone in on this team is discipline. We've got to be disciplined in our play. We can talk about the officials all we want, but the fact of the matter is, we're swiping down on somebody we know is not about to make the layup. They're leading scorer [Stina Almquist], she shot 14 free throws. That's just undisciplined on our nature and I feel like this was the first team that really made up pay for that. It's been a constant theme this whole season of being about to defend without fouling. I think this is a tough lesson for our group to learn, but a lesson that we need to learn nonetheless.

On turnovers difference and shooting
I think we just looked completely unsettled out there and it's getting to the point where it's like, we're drilling stuff, we're going through stuff offensively and we're getting into the game and we're kind of freezing. We've got to get past that. We've got to be a team that comes in and plays a little more comfortable and, you know, that's going to come with time, but we've got to hit shots. It was point blank layups that we're missing, it was point blank three's that we're missing. We shot 40 percent from the field but it felt like we're missing all kinds of layups left, right and center.

On getting team ready for games
We really looked uncomfortable the whole game out there. We've got to do a better job coming into games. As a coaching staff, we've got to do a better job of getting them ready for that. Credit to Penn. Obviously they came out, they played well. They've got a lot of experienced players, but we've got to come into games and we've got to take control of the game and we didn't do that today.

On Takia Davis in the third quarter and career high
I think it's something that sould happen for all of our post players. I think that going into the game we knew we were going to be able to score 1v1. It was just missed layups, missed layups, missed layups. So Takia was able to come in and give us some bounce and probably as a coaching staff could have gone back to her in the fourth, but we're already down double digits and we've got to get some shooting and some scoring out. It's really about maybe trying to stretch the floor a little bit with our small lineup. I thought Takia played well, came in and played hard, but as a group we were already too big in a hole at that point.
