Head coach, Deandra Schirmer
On the the game being such a low final score.
"Obviously, tonight was a defensive battle. I think that both teams did a great job of scouting each other and coming out and trying to take away main options. I felt like, especially in the second half and third quarter, we were held to single digits, and then in the fourth quarter, we held them to single digits. It started to become a slugfest."
On suffering such a close loss.
"Being a defensive coach, those are typically the games that I like to play in. If we're not hitting shots, we've still got to have our defense, and I felt like the way that we responded in the fourth to come back, I was really proud of our group."
On the team continuing to gel together.
"Last year, even the players that are returners had drastically different roles than they have right now, and so they're still finding comfort. So right now, nobody's really on solid ground. We're all still trying to figure it out, and I think it's important for us to face games like this."
Brooke Anya, Gr., F/C
On the team giving up its nine-point lead prior to halftime.
"I think it really just comes down to the mentality that we have once we come out. Like okay, we had some errors in the first half, but we can't bring that into the second half."
On the team's current chemistry.
"Once we grow and mature together, those mistakes are going to be minimized."
