Violeta Fernandez-Tagle and the Chattanooga Mocs continue to battle in the top 3 at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational.

EATONTON, Ga.---It was a blustery day at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational with the wind wreaking havoc with the field. The Chattanooga Mocs shot 304, tying for the fourth-best round of the day.
The ladies are third overall with a 2-day total of 601 at the Great Waters Course. That's behind Mercer (583) and Western Kentucky (593) and ahead of Delaware (608). The Bears turned in a near immaculate round of 289, while the Hilltoppers weren't far off at 293.
"The two rounds from Mercer and Western Kentucky were quite spectacular in that wind," Coach Colette Murray explained. "Very Impressive! We fought and didn't give up (throughout the day). We have a few things to sort out and hope to finish strong tomorrow."
Violeta Fernandez-Tagle was steady through the round with a 1-over 73 with wind gusts into the mid-30s. That was one better than Nieves Martin's 74. The duo had six of the Mocs nine birdies on the day. Makenzie Cooper and Giulia Foresta added 77 and 80, respectively, to the counting total while Kera Healey's 81 served as the drop score.
Fernandez-Tagle is tied for fourth at 3-over 147 for her 36 holes. That's five off the pace set by Mercer's Mikayla Dubnik and WKU's Addie Westbrook at 2 under. Cooper is tied for sixth at 148.
Martin made a 23-place climb up the leaderboard into a tie for 15th with 151. Healey's next on the Mocs list at 156 followed by Foresta's 160.
The final round is a shotgun start at 10 a.m. Chattanooga is paired with the Bears and Hilltoppers on holes 1-4. Live scoring, including pairings when available, for round two are linked above.
