CHATTANOOGA (March 20, 2024) --- The Chattanooga Mocs women's tennis team earned a 6-1 victory over Milwaukee in non-conference action on a sunny Wednesday afternoon at the UTC Tennis Center on campus.
 
Chattanooga improves to 7-7 overall after the victory in the first-ever meeting between the two programs. Milwaukee drops to 6-7 overall on the season after the defeat.
 
Chattanooga earned a 1-0 lead after doubles play following wins from the top two pairings. The No. 1 tandem of Rozalie Dohnalova and Alice Hall posted a 6-3 victory before the No. 2 duo of Caroline Gibbens and Madlena Orlova followed with a similar 6-3 decision.
 
Dohnalova accounted for the team's first point in singles play with a 6-1, 6-3 victory at the No. 1 spot before Margaret Manolache earned a 6-2, 6-1 win in the No. 6 hole to give UTC a 3-0 lead in the match. Gibbens sealed the deal with a hard fought 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 3 to clinch the match's magic fourth point.
 
Milwaukee claimed a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 5 to make the total 4-1 before Orlova earned a 4-6, 6-2, 10-5 comeback win at No. 2 to extend the difference to 5-1. Emma Peeler capped off the 6-1 win with another comeback effort, recording a 2-6, 6-1, 6-3 decision on court No. 4.
 
Chattanooga (7-7, 1-1 SoCon) returns to action with a Saturday Southern Conference match at home against ETSU. The match is slated for a 10 a.m. ET start at the UTC Tennis Center (weather dependent) on campus. Match coverage links will be available on the schedule page.
