CHATTANOOGA (March 23, 2024) --- The Chattanooga Mocs suffered a 6-1 defeat to current Southern Conference leader and in-state rival ETSU on a sunny Saturday afternoon at the UTC Tennis Center on campus.
Following the defeat, Chattanooga moves to 7-8 overall this season and drops to 1-2 inside SoCon action. ETSU improves to 10-6 overall and remains perfect inside league play at 5-0.
The Bucs claimed a 1-0 lead after earning all three wins in the doubles format before claiming the first two singles results (No. 6 and No. 5) to take a 3-0 lead.
Emma Peeler claimed a 7-5, 6-1 win at the No. 4 slot to make it 3-1 before ETSU closed the match out with three wins at the top three positions.
Chattanooga (7-8) quickly returns to action tomorrow, Sunday, March 24, with a road non-conference tilt at Alabama A&M. First serve is slated for 2 p.m. ET / 1 p.m. CT in Huntsville. No live coverage links are available for the match.
