HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (March 24, 2024) --- The Chattanooga Mocs women's tennis team rebounded from a tough Saturday SoCon contest with a 6-1 victory over Alabama A&M in non-conference action at the AAMU Tennis Courts in Huntsville, Ala., on Sunday afternoon.
 
Following the victory, Chattanooga evens its overall record to 8-8 while earning its third-straight non-conference win this season. Alabama A&M falls to 4-11 overall in 2024 after the defeat.
 
"I'm very proud of these ladies," said head coach Chad Camper following the match. "We had to really dig down and pull together as a team to earn the win today."
 
The Mocs claimed a 1-0 lead following the doubles format after the top pairing of Rozalie Dohnalova and Alice Hall posted a 7-5 win and the No. 2 duo of Caroline Gibbens and Madlena Orlova earned a 6-3 decision. The No. 3 doubles tilt went unfinished after the visitors claimed the team point.
 
In singles, UTC saw victories at every position except for the No. 5 hole with five of the six total matches on Sunday reaching the deciding third set. Orlova was the lone match in the No. 2 slot to end in straight sets with the UTC representative ultimately coming away with a 6-3, 7-6 victory.
 
Dohnalova won in the No. 1 singles match with a comeback 2-6, 6-3, 7-5 win while Emma Peeler also capped off a rally with a 5-7, 6-4, 6-1 win in the No. 3 hole. Hall followed suit with a 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 4 while the freshman Emma Pedretti rallied for a 6-7, 6-1, 6-0 win in the closing No. 6 battle.

Chattanooga (8-8) will look for its fourth-straight, non-conference victory with a Friday road match at Presbyterian before staying in the Palmetto state for a Saturday conference dual at perennial league-power Furman.
