Men’s and Women’s Tennis Earn ITA Team Academic Award, Programs Combine for 15 Scholar-Athlete Honorees

The Chattanooga Mocs men’s and women’s tennis programs continued their excellence in the classroom and earned ITA honors for the efforts.
TEMPE, Ariz. (July 23, 2024) – The Chattanooga Mocs men's and women's tennis programs have once again claimed Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Team Academic honors while combining to feature 15 individual Scholar-Athletes, the organization announced on Monday afternoon.
The women's program claimed its 14th-straight ITA All-Academic Team award while the men reached double figures with its 10th-straight team academic honor. The 15 combined individual award winners mark the second-most between the two programs since 17 during the 2021-22 edition.
- *For a team to be named an ITA All-Academic Team, the program must average a team GPA of 3.2 or better (on a 4.0 scale). To be labeled an ITA Scholar-Athlete, student-athletes must contain an overall GPA of at least 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) for the current academic year.
MEN'S TENNIS ACADEMIC HONORS
Following the 2023-24 academic year, the men's squad finished with a 3.58 team GPA and tied its own program record for the second consecutive term with all 13 members earning a spot on the AD's Honor Roll (3.0+). The nine ITA Scholar-Athlete selections this year mark a new program record.
ITA Scholar-Athletes (9): Ethan Carr, Gabriel Castillo, Carson Gompert, Cortland Grove, Peyton Gatti, Jakub Jupa, Kristof Kincses, Jordan McClure, Quinten Nevenhoven
WOMEN'S TENNIS ACADEMIC HONORS
On the women's side, the program ended the 2023-24 academic slate with a 3.43 team GPA while seeing the pair of Caroline Gibbens and Alice Hall finishing with perfect 4.0 GPA terms. The team landed six on both the AD's Honor Roll and Dean's List, in addition to the laurels listed above.
