PREVIEW: Mocs & Bucs Match Up at Finley

KJ Sejour and the Chattanooga Mocs welcome ETSU on Saturday afternoon at Finley Stadium.

First Look
The Chattanooga Mocs are home again for just the third time in the 2025 season. The squad is coming off a bye week which rarely comes at the midpoint of the season. This one followed six games and exits with six games to go.
 
There are several promotions coming this Saturday. It's a White Out with all fans requested to wear white to the contest. It's Faith & Fellowship Day with group ticket deals available by calling the ticket office at (423) 266-MOCS (6627). The men's tennis team will also be celebrated for winning the 2025 NIT title.
 
Kickoff is slated for 1:30 p.m., broadcasting on ESPN+ and the Mocs Sports Network on WFLI in Chattanooga, on GoMocs.com online as well as the Varsity Network app.

  • Coach Rusty Wright is one win shy of 40 overall. He would become the 5th Mocs ball coach all-time with 40+.

  • Rail Rivalry moniker was started by the Bucs in 2018. They won the first in Johnson City with the Mocs capturing each one since. The winner earns the Rail Trophy which is renowned as the most prestigious railroad tie in collegiate athletics.
 
About the Bucs
  • 48th matchup. Fifth longest series in school history. Fourth most wins against any opponent and tied for third in losses.
  • Won five straight in the series & seven of eight since the Bucs returned to the gridiron in 2016.
  • 18-15 in SoCon meetings between the two schools.
  • Bucs head coach Will Healy was an assistant at Chattanooga under Russ Huesman from 2009-15 sharing the sidelines with Rusty Wright over the last three. He was a QB assistant his first season before shifting to WR over the last six.
  • Two area players on its roster: K/P Ethan Lane (Hixson) & WR Hudson Makuch (Cleveland).
  • Balanced offense gaining 184.0 on the ground & 219.0 by air on average.
