POSTGAME QUOTES
Chattanooga vs. Sacramento State
Riverside, California. | Fowler Events Center

Head Coach Deandra Schirmer
Opening Statement
"We talked about how we have to win gritty and finally we have a defensive battle against a talented team, who was averaging over 70 points a game going into today. For us to come out in the third quarter and hold them to single digits was game changing. So, I am just really proud of this group for gritting it out."
On Caia Elisaldez's awareness to get fouled on the final shot of the game
"A heads up play from Caia after they banked in a shot with a few seconds left to tie the game. She knew the game was not over and that we needed to get a shot off. It was a fantastic job of being a mature leader for us and being able to stay in the fire."
On the team coming together on and off the court
"I think this team's grit has shown that they are really close off the court. We just had Thanksgiving with Caia's family providing a fantastic meal. We were just hanging out, enjoying each others company with no phones in sight. This team is really gelling as a group and you're starting to see that come out on the court as well. I'm so happy for this group."
Caia Elisaldez, Jr., G
On what it means to come home and play in front of friends and family
"I can't even begin to explain how good it felt to see everyone here. A lot of my family hasn't been able to see me play in Chattanooga, so for everyone to be here really meant the world to me, especially at my mom's alma mater where she started all of this."
On Falon Bedke's performance
She is my hero. If you ever know who I love the most, it is
Falon Bedke. I cant even explain all the great things she does for this team. The energy she brings, it's funny because off the court, Falon is quiet and then you go on the court, and I don't think anyone on the team is louder. The way she will slap the court and yell at someone, I love it and it fuels me every single game."
