Head coach Deandra Schirmer
On rallying in the fourth for the win
"Listen, at this time last year, I would have been begging for any kind of win, you know, whether it's one point, two points, three points, whatever it is. I feel like our team really showed something to me as a coach in this game of how we fought and how we finish out. I thought that, you know, Libson's a very talented team. I think they're going to do really, really well in their conference. And, you know, we're in enemy territory, you know, and to overcome all the things that we had to overcome tonight and be able to go get it done, I think that this group is still finding their identity. And I think when they're doing that, to be able to pick up wins when I don't feel like we played well. You know, we didn't play well at all. I think, yeah, shot 35% from the field, 25 and we're teeing off. We're wide open. Even free throws, you know, so my thing is, is I really feel like this group is starting to build confidence. And being able to win ugly is a sign of a good team. So just happy to get out of here with a win, honestly."

On low turnovers helping to overcome low shooting performance
"Oh, I know. We just got to hit shots though. I think, you know, a lot of the shots that we're getting, we're used to hitting. You know, they pull up jump shots that we know, you know, it was, there was one play that it busted open. I think it was with like two minutes left and Izzy's teeing off wide open and I'm like, oh, yeah, that's in. And we missed it, you know? And that's not just saying anything on that, but I'm just saying it's an example of, you know, missed a lot right at the rim. And I think when you work hard and you do things the right way, you know, the basketball gods, they shine down on you. So even if the fouls are a little bit testy, they only make 10 out of the 24 they got to shoot. So, you know, the basketball gods, you know, they shine down on us and smiled on us and had favor. So just very thankful for that and for this group."

On poor free throw shooting by Lipscomb
"I think that, you know, I've got to do a better job as a coach. I think I probably irritated the officials too soon tonight, but, you know, I I'm trying to hold them accountable just like I'm trying to hold my team accountable and and sometimes it looks a little bit different each game and we've got to be able to make the adjustments on how the game's being called."

On the play of leading scorers Kalifa Ford and Gianna Corbitt
"I think that also having the poise of our players to just respond in a way, you, also our bench was nothing but positivity. I think that, you know, there was there's a read off of one of our sets and our bench player was calling it, and then we scored off it and it was like, she called it. I knew she called the set. So just having a team that's really locked in, I thought, you know, um, we got a really good group and I'm excited to see how they develop."

On the upcoming game with Troy
"I think also, it's a big test as far as, can we win in a variety of ways? I thought we got bullied inside today. And if they think, you know, they have really good players, I don't want to take anything away from their players. But if, if we're getting bodied by some of these players, we're going to get killed by Troy. So it's a different style of play. We got to prep for it, but we knew this was a must win for us to get back in the win column, and we're just really, really excited to survive."

On the difference between this team this year and last year's squad
"I think the difference between this year and last year was we stayed together as like as a whole. When we went in the locker room down how much ever we didn't lose sight of the goal, which was to win the game ultimately. So we corrected what we missed. And some things are just going to happen. It's basketball, but we ultimately stay together as a team and never hung our heads on it."

On being a young team, but mature
"I think with us having so many returners, especially from last year, having to play, we know what each other's keys are and what makes us go. So when we're communicating, it's no hard feelings. We know we're all in it together to get to the ultimate goal. So if I'm telling one of my teammates, one of my telling teammates are telling me something, it's always for the end goal."

On how defense is important to the Mocs game
"I think doesn't one of our main goal is playing defense without fouling. But ultimately, when we needed to play defense, we did play defense, and we got the stops and we got the key rebounds to win the game."

On trust from teammates as a sophomore
"I always say that coach D has more trust than me than I do on myself, but I know she has that because I'm putting to work every day. We put into work grabbing rebounds. We put in work, making free throws. We put into work trusting each other to do those things. Close game scenario, always in practice, whether it's situations or just regular practice against our practice players."
