Opening Statement
"Our defensive effort, one of our goals is to hold them to 55 or under, and I thought surely if we hold them to 55 or under we'll win the game. I think that it's a little bit disheartening because we've been practicing our tails off, left, right and center. Credit to our players, they're playing hard and they're getting excellent looks. It's just, the ball's not going in and that's probably on me. I've got to get better rotations, I've got to have some fresh legs there in the fourth. I think that we have a really good core, but we're still trying to find somebody that we can throw in there in big positions and get us some good minutes. I felt like their offense is so exposed so it's hard. You wanna go with the defensive group, but then it costs us that game. I've got to get back to the drawing board a little bit and look at some of the things and how teams are defending us and how we can get better in those capacities."
On dealing with playing against different players in the lineup
"Yeah, but I also feel like we had some blown coverages. There was some times where [Emily Bowman] was getting a wide open slip. That should never happen. I think for us, like I said, we've got to look at how we're defended with certain stuff and what we're doing and how we can get better in that capacity."
On the response of the team in the loss
"I also feel like I'm gutted for our group because I feel like there's a number of times where we could have rolled over. We were down seven multiple times and we battled back and we battled back and hit some big shots. I don't know how many threes that we were able to get off when we were down by three, but they didn't fall. Those are sometimes where you feel like a decision, one way or the other, could have impacted the game a little bit better. You knew it was gonna be a close game, so I held on to my timeouts a little bit. I'm sitting here like, maybe I should have burned them a little bit earlier when we were going cold a bit, but we're learning. I think that this is an up call for our group going into some big games. Obviously we have another big one up against ETSU, and we have to make sure that we're locked in for that."
