Deandra Schirmer, head coach
On defensive breakdowns being too much to overcome:
"I really feel like the only way we've been able to beat teams is with our defense, you know. We knew that we knew that going into the game that they want to play quickly. They want to shoot it at their pace. They want to shoot it quickly in the first 12 seconds of the shot clock, and we've got to have good defense, because we didn't want to get into their style of play. Unfortunately, we kind of got into that in the third quarter and giving up 28 points in a quarter is just unacceptable, and it was a number of different ways. You have to give credit to them."

Breaking down the third quarter surge by Troy
"They've been shooting the three poorly, and then tonight they came out shot 40 percent. Even their big girl got in on it. So, you know, sometimes, when it's not your night, it's not your night, but I really felt like once they hit some tough shots, we started hanging our heads, and that's uncharacteristic of our group. That was something that you know we were talking about in the huddle is to finish with our heads held high, and we want to make sure we keep attacking. I can't speak enough about how much respect I have for our team, and what they've gutted out this season."

On her seniors:
"I'm gonna miss seeing them every day. Yeah. I'm gonna miss coming into the gym seeing Si and her just smiling a big old Cheshire cat smile every single day. I'm gonna miss her making an amazing play and then looking over at the bench like she just did something crazy. I'm gonna miss clutch Karsen, hitting some big shots and just her fire. She's one of the most competitive players I've ever coached. I'm gonna miss Brooke looking at me when she fouls, and she doesn't think she fouled, and she goes, 'what did I do'? You know, I'm gonna miss our long conversations. I'm going to miss Takia Davis and all the funny little quirks that she has. I think for this to be my first season here at Chattanooga. I wouldn't pick a different group to do it with."
