CHATTANOOGA (March 28, 2025) – The Chattanooga Mocs women's tennis team posted a 4-3 victory over UNC Greensboro during its Southern Conference home opener on Friday afternoon at the UTC Tennis Center on campus.
 
Chattanooga (10-7, 1-2 SoCon) picks up its first league victory of the season after Friday's effort and has now won its last five matches against UNCG (3-12, 0-4 SoCon) dating back 2021. The Mocs have won 10 of the last 12 over the Spartans after snapping a six-year drought from 2007-13.
 
In doubles action, UNCG jumped out to a 1-0 lead with the No. 1 tandem of Olivia Gallagher and Lauren Thompson providing the clinching moment in a 7-6 (5) tiebreak victory. The Mocs earned four-straight victories in singles play to clinch the match at 4-1 before the Spartans concluded the match with two wins to notch of the 4-3 final.

After Sunday's match at Western Carolina, Chattanooga will remain on the road and head to Johnson City, Tenn. to face ETSU on Saturday, April 5 before returning home to host Furman on Sunday, April 6 for senior day.
