First Look: The Chattanooga Mocs women's golf team starts postseason play Monday in West Columbia, S.C., at the Southern Conference Championships. This year's event shifts to Solina Golf Club with nine teams converging with hopes of team and individual glory.
 
Six Mocs are the roster with five starters and an alternate to choose from each round. The sextet is led by Violeta Fernandez-Tagle's 73.26 stroke average. She's joined by junior Kera Healey, fellow sophomore Giulia Foresta, junior Makenzie Cooper, freshman Chloe Stevenazzi and senior Nieves Martin.
 
First Thought: "We are looking forward to being in Columbia at the Solina Golf Club. We have done as much 'homework' as we can do on the course without actually being on the course and playing it. I think we need to see how the course plays and come up with a solid game plan that can set us up to play well and win." – Coach Colette Murray on the squad heading into this year's championships

• 5-time team winners (2010-14) while finishing as runner-up six times (2009, 2015-19).
• Seven medalists: Emma de Groot (2011), Jordan Britt (2012), Agathe Sauzon (2013), Emily McLennan (2014), Megan Woods (2016), Monica San Juan (2019) & Dorota Zalewska (2022).
• Swept team & individual titles four times: 2011, 2012, 2013 & 2014.
• Fernandez-Tagle finished ninth in her first SoCon Championships last season. She looks to join Jordan Britt (2nd-1st), Agathe Sauzon (1st-T10) and Emily McLennan (T5-1st) as the only Mocs with top 10s in their first to conference tournaments.
