Two Golfers Merit National Academic Recognition

Violeta Fernandez-Tagle and Kera Healey (pictured) earned spots on coveted national academic honors list.

First Look: Chattanooga Mocs women's golf was represented in the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District squads in 2025. Junior Kera Healey and sophomore Violeta Fernandez-Tagle claimed spots in the At Large program which covers a large variety of sports in NCAA competition. The award requires a 3.5 cumulative grade point average and each nominee must have completed at least three semesters of academic work while also competing as a starter or major contributor to team competitions.

Breakdown
  • Second straight year Healey earned a spot on the list. She's the first Moc with multiple all-district mentions.
  • Healey and Fernandez-Tagle were both made the 2024 Women's Golf Coaches Association's All-American Scholar team. The 2025 squad has yet to be announced.
  • Fernandez-Tagle was also an All-Southern Conference selection this season.
  • Healey is majoring in Exercise Science.
  • Fernandez-Tagle is following a course of study in Economics.
