CINCINNATI, Ohio — The Chattanooga Mocs women's soccer team dropped a tough 2–0 decision to Xavier on Thursday evening at Corcoran Field. The loss snapped the Mocs five-game unbeaten streak, second longest in program history.
Xavier (4–2–1) struck early in the first half with a goal in the 21st minute and added a second in the 50th minute.
Chattanooga (5–2–1) managed just three shots in the match, two of which were on target.
Clarissa Salinas and
Zoey Mize each registered a shot on goal, while
Quinn Johnson had a blocked attempt in the second half.
Ekern recorded five saves in goal for the Mocs, facing a barrage of 25 total shots from Xavier, including seven on target.
Chattanooga hosts Belmont Sunday, Sept. 14 at 1:00 p.m. at Finley Stadium. Several members of past Mocs teams will be in attendance for the annual reunion game. Admission is free.
