Postgame Quotes vs ETSU
Feb. 14 – McKenzie Arena

Head Coach Deandra Schirmer, 2nd Season
Opening Statement:
"First and foremost, I want to sing the praises of ETSU. I think they came in here in a hostile environment and played really, really hard. There were a couple times where they could have given up, and they could have rolled over, and they just kept coming. They're relentless, and we knew that coming in. So, a lot of credit."

On the defense:
"I think when we went into this game, we didn't expect it to be 91-90, that's for sure. We felt like it was gonna be a low-scoring dogfight. When you look at some of the different defensive things that we were looking to do, I feel like nothing could slow down their drive. Next time we face them, we've gotta do a better job of containing them without fouling.
You can't put somebody to the line 27 times."

On what's ahead:
"There's a lot of things that we've got to work on. In a game like that, when our players are giving everything they have, and they're laying it out on the line, it's always, in my opinion, the coach's responsibility to bring it home. That's something I've got to look at and as a staff, we've got to look at."

Caia Elisaldez, Jr.-G
On bouncing back from a tough loss:
"It's just to reiterate who we are. I think we need to go back to playing like us. I feel like sometimes, when things got hard, we got kind of spastic. We played out of character and played their game. We want to be us at all times. We've been priding ourselves over the first round of conference on defense. I think our defense needs to get back to where it was."
