Women’s Tennis Sweeps Tennessee State 7-0 for Third-Straight Victory

The Chattanooga Mocs women’s tennis team posted a controlling shutout over the Tigers on a rainy Sunday afternoon at McCallie School.

CHATTANOOGA (February 15, 2026) — The Chattanooga Mocs women's tennis team upped its winning streak to three matches following a dominating 7-0 shutout over Tennessee State during non-conference action inside the Strang-Voges Tennis Center at nearby McCallie School on Sunday afternoon.
 
Chattanooga improves to 5-1 on the season following its third-straight victory. Tennessee State falls to 0-3 overall after today's defeat.
 
Match Recap
At No. 2 doubles, UTC's Jordan Fenton and Emma Pedretti set the tone with a 6-1 victory over TSU's Victoria Cooksey and Claudia Murdasanu before Rufaro Magarira and Savannah Presson followed with a 6-2 win at No. 1 over Aroa Arrie Castillo and Jovana Nikolic. Zara Burns and Ella Mancuso completed the sweep with a 6-4 victory against Julie Tungamarial and Natalie Walsh at No. 3.
 
In singles play, Chattanooga maintained its momentum, beginning with Pedretti's 6-1, 6-2 victory over Walsh at No. 3. Magarira added another point with a straight-set win, 6-1, 6-0, against Nikolic at No. 1. Presson continued the streak, delivering a 6-0, 6-0 shutout against Tungamarial at No. 2 and clinching the match for the Mocs in the process.
 
Burns extended Chattanooga's lead by defeating Cooksey 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4 while Mancuso closed out her match at No. 6 with a 6-2, 5-1 result over Murdasanu. Fenton capped the match sweep with a 6-2, 6-4 win against Arrie Castillo on court No. 5.
