Coach Deandra Schirmer, 2nd Season
Opening Statement:
"Our team didn't come out with the right intensity today. We were flat defensively and offensively. When we were trying to battle back, we were making poor decisions, and that can't happen this late in the season. Credit to UNCG. Obviously, they came in and had a good game plan, but I just felt like watching in the first quarter; it wasn't the team that I'm used to seeing. As a coach, you appreciate the fact that we were able to come back and win it, but we have to know that that's unacceptable."
Â
On being able to come back from 10 points down in the second half on an "off" day:
"The saying goes, 'I'd rather be lucky than good'. We were lucky and able to skate by, but we won't be able to do that on this big road trip that we have coming up, and we've got to lock in to be better."
Â
On any adjustments made to propel the fourth quarter turnaround:
"We started getting stops defensively and then
Caia Elisaldez just went nuclear. They couldn't stop her in transition. I don't know how many points she had in the fourth quarter, but it felt like all of them."
Â
Caia Elisaldez, Jr.-G
On key to fourth quarter surge:
"Credit to our coaches. I think they put me in good shape for me to be able to last at the end of the games like that. I feel like towards the end of games, it's all about who wants it more, but it's also, you have to have the conditioning to do it. It's also the confidence that (the coaches) instill in me to make plays like that. They're believing in me, but all of us are going together."

Sarah Owona, Jr.-G
On making two clutch 3s late in the fourth quarter:
"Every practice, every game, coach tells me if you have one little second, shoot the ball. I don't really do it because I don't feel comfortable doing that. But I was so open today, and Caia gave two great passes. I just shot like I've been practicing every week, every day. Just be confident and take those when they come."
