Postgame Quotes
Greenville, S.C. | Timmons Arena
February 5, 2026
Final: Chattanooga 62, Furman 54
Head Coach Deandra Schirmer
On having two players with a double-double
"That's kind of cool. I think that our players are getting ready, and they're playing hard, and doing a lot of things for us. I think we knew that we had an advantage with Gianna (Corbitt) in certain scenarios, and we were able to utilize that, and that's something that we're really proud about, our execution, and our prep."
On the struggles in the fourth quarter
"Giving up 22 points in the fourth quarter, that's completely unacceptable. We completely got out of our game plan. I mean, giving up wide-open threes in transition, fouling players we didn't need to foul, defending by fouling. Taking care of the basketball. I don't know how many turnovers we had in the fourth, but, you know, for this team, we are very young. You know, we have one senior, and I feel like our immaturity is a little bit rare to Ted, and we've got to be much more poised, because we know they're a very talented team, and that we're gonna see them again. "
On the physicality of the game
"You know, we gotta understand, no matter how the game is being called, like, if they're making it a physical game, we've gotta respond to that. And I thought we kind of cowered a little bit, and that's frustrating from my standpoint, being a coach that wants to, you know, coach grittiness and toughness and all that kind of stuff, and I think that we've got to have a little bit more to us."
Gianna Corbitt, So., Forward
On not finishing the game as strong as they would like
"We definitely have to take accountability of how we closed out this game, and we have to be better, especially knowing that we have Wofford coming up. And we have to play for 40 minutes. Can't just play for 35 or for 30 because we have a lead."
On Caia Elisaldez
"She's amazing. Her vision, her court vision of everything, and her passing, especially with her height. Like, you wouldn't think that someone so small can make those passes and see over people, but she can, and then she makes us passes. And then us as teammates, we just do our job, and we finish them."
On Coach Mallory Odell's baseline out-of-bounds plays tonight
Coach Mallory is amazing. She has us with the best blobs (baseline out-of-bounds). Like, genuinely. And then we adjusted them for, like, game-by-game and it's just been amazing coaching from her."
