Postgame Quotes
Spartanburg, S.C. | Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium
February 7, 2026
Final: Chattanooga 63, Wofford 67
Head Coach Deandra Schirmer
On what the loss can do for the team
"The other thing is, you know, there are different moments in a season, and I feel like we've been cruising a little bit, and, you know, this is maybe what we needed to wake us up a little bit. I think that, obviously, they're (Wofford) a very talented team, and we know that we're probably going to see them again. So it's all about how do we respond?"
On rebounding being a reason why the Mocs lost
"I think that, you know, we've been playing good basketball, and it's been dictated by rebounding, and, as you see, we get outrebounded. Not just outrebounded, but dominated on the glass, and that was the difference in the game, as you see, it's a possessions game.
And it came down to the last possession. I thought we managed to not turn the ball over, which we have struggled a little bit with the turnovers, and I think that, it all comes down to defensive rebounding, and we couldn't get it done today."
On Wofford's offensive performance, specifically Gabby Mundy's
"I think that, obviously, she (Gabby Mundy) hit some tough shots. I also think the way their offense is set up, it's a tough guard on our hand. I think that we knew it was going be a tough guard, and we were hoping that, you know, they had a tough shooting night.
Right, now, you see 42% from the field and almost 36% from three. And some of those, you know, that's one three-pointer that they miss, and we are able to go.
So, you know, it's a game of inches, and, we know that we're gonna have to adjust."
