RICHMOND, Ky. (February 7, 2026) — The Chattanooga Mocs women's tennis team continued its hot start to the 2026 season with a dominating 6-1 victory over Eastern Kentucky on Saturday afternoon at the Greg Adams Tennis Center in Richmond, Ky.
 
Chattanooga improves to 4-1 this season and has allowed just two team points from its opponents in its four wins this season. EKU falls to 2-6 overall after the defeat.
 
Addison Iacono and Rufaro Magarira claimed a decisive 6-2 win over Masha Fedenko and Ceylin Ipek at No. 1 doubles to kick off the momentum. Although EKU responded with a win at No. 3, Chattanooga clinched the point when Emma Pedretti and Savannah Presson prevailed 7-5 over Zhansaya Bakytzhan and Izem Elif Olcer in the No. 2 spot.
 
In singles play, UTC extended their lead with a commanding performance. Iacono led the way at No. 1 with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Fedenko. EKU picked up a point at No. 3 when Ipek defeated Presson 6-3, 6-3. However, the Mocs quickly responded as Magarira rallied from a set down to win 2-6, 6-0, 6-2 against Parkhomenko in the No. 2 position.
 
Pedretti added another point for Chattanooga at No. 4, overcoming Marilou Cote 6-4, 4-6, 6-0. Zara Burns clinched the match for UTC with a quality 6-2, 6-3 win over Olcer at No. 5 before Fenton concluded things with a straight-set victory in the No. 6 hole, 6-2, 6-4 over Bakytzhan.
