Women’s Tennis Wins 4-3 Thriller Over Bellarmine; Lengthens Win Streak to Seven

The Chattanooga Mocs women’s tennis team earned its seventh-straight win in dramatic fashion over the Knights.

CHATTANOOGA (March 1, 2026) — The Chattanooga Mocs women's tennis team continues its stellar start to the 2026 spring season following a thrilling 4-3 win over Bellarmine during non-conference action on Sunday afternoon outdoors at the UTC Tennis Center on campus.
 
Following the win, Chattanooga has now won seven-straight matches and improves to 9-1 on the season. Bellarmine fell to 7-15 overall following the narrow defeat.
 
Team Notables
  • Chattanooga improves to 9-1 on the season... seventh-straight win... best start to a single season since an 11-1 start in 2023.
  • Chattanooga's seven-match win streak is the longest since an eight-match streak during the same 2023 season.
 
Match Recap
In doubles, Bellarmine's Marika Caruk and Nikola Kollaritsch captured a quick 6-0 victory at No. 3 over Ella Mancuso and Margaret Manolache before the tandem of Jordan Fenton and Addison Iacono earned a 6-4 win at No. 2 over Gracie Hurley and Lillie Willis. Rufaro Magarira and Savannah Presson earned UTC a 1-0 lead following a 6-3 triumph at No. 1 against Vendula Kryslova and Reese Parker.
 
In singles action, Magarira put the Mocs ahead 2-0 with a straight-set victory at No. 1 over Kryslova 6-1, 6-4 before Mancuso extended the UTC lead (3-0) with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Lillie Willis. Bellarmine's Parker notched the team's first point with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Presson at No. 2.
 
Zara Burns fought hard at No. 3 against Caruk before ultimately falling in a three-set battle (6-3, 2-6, 6-2) as BU closed its deficit to 3-2. Bellarmine tied the match on court No. 6 when Claudia Fernandez secured a 7-5, 7-5 win over Manolache. Jordan Fenton provided the thrilling match-clinching moment at No. 4 following a tough three-set victory over Kollaritsch (6-3, 5-7, 6-4).
