CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- On the heels of a successful indoor track and field season, the Chattanooga Mocs are set to embark on a diverse and competitive outdoor track and field schedule.

Chattanooga opens the outdoor season March 20–21 nearby at the Lee University Invitational in Cleveland, Tenn., a familiar early-season test that annually draws strong competition.

The following weekend, March 27-28, the Mocs split squads for a pair of meets. While the bulk of the team will head south for Emory's Thrills in the Hills Open in Atlanta, a selection of athletes will travel to Raleigh, N.C., for the prestigious Raleigh Relays hosted by NC State.

After a week off, the Mocs return to Cleveland for the annual Lee University – Fast Break Invitational the weekend of April 10-11 followed by a weekend in Atlanta at the Georgia Tech Invite. The Running Mocs will end April in Birmingham, Ala., at the Josh Reidinger Classic.

May opens with the Outdoor Music City Challenge in Nashville and then a weekend off to prepare for the Southern Conference Championships. Western Carolina plays host in Cullowhee, N.C. May 11-12.

The Mocs look to capitalize on continued progress from both veteran leaders and emerging underclassmen as they chase podium finishes and personal bests on the conference's biggest stage. Chattanooga's only 100-meter conference champion,
Ryleigh Simmons, returns to the track to defend her title.
