Women’s Tennis Hosts Tennessee Wesleyan, Opens SoCon Action at UNCG

The Chattanooga Mocs women’s tennis team hosts NAIA power on Friday before opening SoCon play on the road Sunday afternoon.

CHATTANOOGA (March 12, 2026) – Looking to continue its hot start to the spring season, the Chattanooga Mocs women's tennis team opens weekend play at home on Friday afternoon against NAIA-power Tennessee Wesleyan before concluding with a Southern Conference-opening match on the road at UNCG in Greensboro, N.C.
 
Friday's home match is set for a 2 p.m. (ET) start outdoors at the UTC Tennis Center on campus. Sunday's contest at UNCG will begin at 1 p.m. (ET) in Greensboro.

- TWU carries an active eight-match win streak into Friday's match… only loss this season occurred on February 7 to NAIA No. 1 Keiser (FL)… 4-1 defeat in Rome, Ga.

- Spartans are coming off a 4-0 loss to No. 3 North Carolina last time out on March 5… UNC was the fourth different nationally ranked ACC opponent of the season… earlier bouts against No. 14 Virginia, No. 11 NC State and No. 21 Clemson.
- UNCG dropped its SoCon opener back on February 28 against ETSU (L, 1-6)… Spartans will look for their first victory over UTC at home since 2018 and first overall win since 2019.
